Claim Your Future, Website Privacy Statement
This website (“site”) is owned by FAME and maintained and administered by Vont LLC (“Vont”). For more information about FAME, please visit FAMEmaine.com. This privacy statement does not apply to other websites which may be linked to this site.
Introduction
As a visitor to this site, you are important to us. For this reason, we do not capture personal information about you without your knowledge. Our goal is to collect only the minimum amount of information needed to serve your needs.

The material contained at this site is, unless otherwise noted, copyright of FAME. Any information or documents contained in this site that are the property of other public or private organizations are subject to the rights of and limitations imposed by such other parties. Collection of Information By Others
This privacy policy applies solely to information collected by this site, through this site. However, this site may contain links to other websites, including links that are placed there by us, such as third-party advertisements or text hyperlinks. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any other website. We encourage users of the site to be aware of when they leave the site, and to read the privacy policies of each and every website that collects personal data. A third-party advertiser may obtain personal information that site visitors voluntarily submit to such third-party to receive the services of the third-party on its website, once a visitor has left this site. We may be compensated by such third-parties if visitors complete certain activities, which may require providing personal information, once on the other website. Such compensation is based on volume and does not involve any sharing of personal information with us. We have no control over the use of this information by these companies.
Public Disclosure
All information collected on this site will be treated the same as any written communication and is subject to the confidentiality, public disclosure, and legal discovery provisions of 1 M.R.S.A. Chapter 13 as well as the confidentiality provisions of 10 M.R.S.A. Chapter 110. Unless specifically protected by Maine law, any information provided may be inspected by the public or disclosed in a legal proceeding.

This site uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). The information generated by the cookie about your use of the site (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on their servers. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the site, compiling reports on site activity for us, and providing other services related to site activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties when required to do so by law, or where third parties process the information for Google. Personally Identifiable Information
When you visit this site, you are not required to provide any personal information unless you choose to do so. The web server will recognize the domain name/Internet Protocol (IP) address from which you are accessing this site and certain other technical facts (such as the operating system and web browser that you are using), but not your email address or other personally identifying information. By using this site, you consent to the recognition of your domain name/IP address.
Personally identifiable information will not be collected unless you voluntarily choose to send an email message or fill out and submit an online form. In order to play the Claim Your Future game on this site, you must provide your state of residence and grade level. If you indicate that you are playing Claim Your Future in connection with a classroom assignment, you may be required to enter your school’s name, school’s location by municipality and state, and your teacher’s last name. All users must complete the pre-assessment tool which is a series of multiple-choice questions designed to elicit opinions about financial and educational behaviors. In order to obtain game results, users must also complete the post-assessment tool, which is a similar series of questions. If you choose to play Claim Your Future, you will be assigned a unique identifier which you can use to return to the game. Your choice not to participate in these activities will not impair your ability to browse. However, it may impair your ability to access certain information, or obtain a service online, or play the Claim Your Future game online. Other basic information, which is not connected to, and is maintained separately and apart from the identifier, is collected for the limited purpose of evaluating usage of the system and effectiveness of the product.
We observe applicable laws and regulations, including the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA). We do not:
(i) collect online contact information from children;
(ii) collect information from children for use other than in evaluating usage of the site and effectiveness of Claim Your Future;
(iii) collect the personally identifiable offline contact information of children;
(iv) distribute to third parties any personally identifiable information;
(v) give children under 13 the ability to publicly post or otherwise distribute personally identifiable contact information; or
(vi) entice any child by the prospect of a special game, prize or other activity to divulge more information than is needed to verify the child’s participation in the activity.
As with all our users, we will collect and share aggregate, anonymous information as explained elsewhere in this policy.
Email Senders
Email messages, sent to any FAME address, will be treated the same as any other written communication. They may be subject to public inspection or legal disclosure and may be saved for a period of time before they are destroyed. The email will be used to respond appropriately. The email message and address may be forwarded to another state agency or partner providing services, for appropriate action.
Electronic Form Filers
Any other information provided by a visitor at the request of FAME, such as the completion and electronic filing of a form, will be considered to be voluntarily provided by the visitor and will be treated in the same manner as information provided in written form or in person during a visit to the agency. Information provided may be subject to public inspection and legal disclosure and may be saved for a period of time before it is destroyed. It may be shared with another state agency or partner providing services for appropriate action.

We will notify users of changes to this site by posting notice of such change on this site.
